Nepali Congress has planned an ambitious two-phase schedule to complete five levels of lower-level conventions within a tight 16-day window ahead of its central general convention in Kathmandu. However, whether they can pull it off remains a major question due to internal factional disputes and repeated rescheduling. The party has already revised schedules for village and municipal conventions (set for Ashwin 3–4) and ward conventions (announced from Ashwin 15 by leader Prakash Sharan Mahat). With rival factions even proposing competing dates between Ashwin/October and Mangsir/December, managing the logistics and resolving factional conflicts in such a compressed timeframe presents a significant challenge.
