Nepali Congress is attempting an ambitious schedule to wrap up five levels of conventions in just 16 days, leading up to its central general convention in Kathmandu scheduled for early October (Ashwin 17–19 / October 2–5). However, pulling it off looks like an uphill battle. The party has already been forced to repeatedly revise its lower-level schedules due to flood disruptions, pushing ward, village, and municipal conventions right up against the wire. On top of logistical hurdles, intense factional rivalry—including competing convention timelines proposed by rival camps—adds significant internal friction to the rush.
