Rescuers are actively attempting to reach trapped workers, but the operations face severe challenges due to heavy flood debris blocking tunnel entrances. Despite the obstacles, there have been recent breakthroughs: rescue teams successfully pulled out survivors after days of non-stop digging, including two people rescued after four days and nights of removing debris, as well as three other survivors in the Trishuli corridor. However, reaching all sites remains difficult—at Chilime, rescue equipment failed to arrive after 10 days, leaving around 21 soldiers to manually clear debris where 6 workers are feared trapped. With over 700 workers missing across flood-damaged Trishuli corridor hydropower tunnels and direct access blocked at multiple sites, teams are also preparing alternative methods such as drilling from above to reach those still trapped inside.
