who is funding flood relief efforts?

Flood relief efforts in Nepal are receiving contributions from a wide range of domestic sources, including local governments, political parties, and private institutions:

• Local Governments & Municipalities: Municipalities across the country are depositing funds into the Prime Minister's Relief Fund. For instance, Bhaktapur Municipality contributed Rs 75.71 lakh, alongside donations from local governments and organizations across Banke, Baglung, Dharan, and Chitwan. • Political Parties & Lawmakers: Major political parties and lawmakers have pledged millions in aid, with parliamentarians donating 15 days of their salary to relief funds. • Foundations & Private Organizations: Two foundations have also stepped in to sponsor higher education and rehabilitation for over 100 children orphaned by the floods.

Despite this strong inflow of donations, over Rs 11.05 billion collected in state relief funds currently remains unspent, causing frustration among victims facing severe ground shortages.
