Midnight lines for cooking gas (LPG) are back in Kathmandu due to severe highway disruptions caused by floods and landslides. Recent landslides along key routes like the Prithvi Highway have blocked gas bullets from entering the valley, leaving around 100 empty bullets stranded and unable to return to Tarai refilling plants.

While plants report having sufficient stock, the damaged roads are preventing normal transport. To manage the crunch, bottlers outside Kathmandu have been running double shifts using alternative routes, and the government has temporarily restricted commercial supply to hotels to prioritize households. Despite these efforts, acute shortages have forced residents to queue up as early as 2 AM just to secure a cylinder.
