Terms of Service
Last updated: October 14, 2026
Chito ("छिटो") is operated by Chito Labs, Kathmandu, Nepal. These terms cover the Chito app (iOS and Android) and the website chito.app. They are short; please read them.
1. Accepting these terms
By installing the app, opening the website or asking Chito a question, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Chito.
2. Who can use Chito
You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, use Chito with the permission of a parent or guardian. Chito is made for people in Nepal and Nepalis abroad, but anyone may use it.
3. What Chito is
Chito is a Nepali assistant. It offers AI answers (Ask Chito), a Nepali calendar (पात्रो) with tithis, festivals and holidays, market information (NEPSE, gold and silver, foreign exchange, fuel), weather, government notices and step-by-step guides to government services (सेवा), job and exam notices (लोक सेवा), and reminders for documents you keep on your phone (मेरो कागजात). Most of it works without an account.
4. Accounts and deletion
You can sign in with Google or Apple to keep your follows, saved items and alerts across devices. Keep your sign-in secure; what happens under your account is your responsibility. You can delete your account at any time in the app — मेरो → सेटिङ → खाता मेटाउनुहोस् (Me → Settings → Delete account) — or by following chito.app/data-deletion. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
5. AI answers are information, not advice
Ask Chito's answers are generated by AI from public sources and our own data. They can be incomplete, out of date or wrong, and they can misread a question. They are not legal, medical, tax, financial or investment advice, and they do not replace a lawyer, doctor, accountant, licensed adviser or the office that handles your case. Before you act on an answer — pay a fee, file a form, buy or sell a share, take a medicine, make a journey — verify it with the official source. Where Chito shows a source and a date, that is where to start.
6. Market, calendar, साइत and राशिफल data
Prices, rates, index values, calendar dates, tithis, साइत (auspicious times) and राशिफल (horoscopes) are collected from public sources and shown as they were received, with the time they were taken where we have it. They can lag, be revised by the source, or carry errors we did not catch. NEPSE, Nepal Rastra Bank, the gold and silver dealers' federation, Nepal Oil Corporation, the Kalimati market, the meteorology department, the Panchanga committee and the publishers are the authorities for their figures, not Chito. Chito does not execute trades or payments and takes no responsibility for a decision made from a figure shown in it. राशिफल and साइत are offered as tradition and culture, not as fact.
7. Content and links that belong to others
News headlines, notices, documents and guides shown or linked in Chito belong to the publishers, government offices and organisations that issued them. We show a summary and a link; the original is theirs, and their terms apply on their site. If you own content and want it credited differently or removed, email hello@chito.app and we will act on it. Chito's own text, design, software and the way answers are put together belong to Chito Labs. You may use them for yourself; you may not copy, resell or rebrand them.
8. Acceptable use
Use Chito as a person, for yourself, your family or your work, in a normal way. Do not:
- abuse, threaten or try to trick Chito or the people behind it, or use it to harm someone;
- scrape, crawl, mirror or bulk-download Chito's data, answers or pages, or run bots, scripts or other automated clients against the app, the website or the API;
- try to get around the website's question limit, rate limits, sign-in or other security measures;
- upload anything you have no right to share, or anything illegal;
- reverse-engineer the app or interfere with how the service runs.
We may limit, suspend or block use that we believe breaks these rules.
9. Free questions on the website
On chito.app, Ask Chito gives a limited number of free questions each day; the page shows the current limit and how many are left. Beyond that, questions are answered in the app. We may change the limit at any time.
10. Availability and changes to the service
Chito is provided as it is and as it is available. We do not promise that it will be up at all times, that every feature will keep working the same way, or that data will always be fresh. We may change, pause or remove features, and we may stop the service, without notice. A source we read may stop, change or block us, and a feature that depends on it may lose its data.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by the law of Nepal, Chito Labs and the people who work on Chito are not liable for any loss or damage — including lost money, lost profit, missed deadlines, missed opportunities or lost data — that comes from using Chito, from relying on an answer, figure, date or notice in it, or from not being able to use it. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that cannot be limited under Nepali law. If you ever pay for Chito, our total liability for a claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Nepal. Any dispute will be settled by the courts of Kathmandu, Nepal. If a part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We post the new version here with a new date, and for a significant change we will tell you in the app or on the website. Using Chito after the date of a change means you accept it.
